My greatest find yet!

So I was perusing the new Goodwill that just came to State St. her in Madison and happened upon a black leather bag. I have been thinking about purchasing such an item for after graduation to have to carry around a laptop or hall all my stuff to work in. The bag looked like it was made of real leather, so I thought what the heck it may be the cheapest leather bag I will find at $15. When I got home curiosity got the best of me and I had to look up the bag on line to see if it was truly leather. Not only was it leather but according to the Monsac web page my bag was priced around $350! YIKES...what crazy person would pay that much for a bag!!! Well I'm luck they did and that they got sick of it before it was all beat up!

Yoga

The time to relax is when you don't have time for it. -Sydney J. Harris

I have been doing yoga for 3 days now. In those 3 days I can't believe how much of a difference it is already making! You know how everyone says that in each sport you work muscles you never knew you had. Well this yoga that I'm doing is conditioning my body to stand up straight and be balanced. Who knew I would have to recondition the muscles that are supposed to be used simply for standing and everyday activity. Since I am so tall, at 6' 1'' I always hunched over; as a result my neck is always in pain and I think it triggers my migraines. I also have a very weak lower back. I have done several different yoga videos, and this one is by far the best. Try getting it from your library, and I'm telling you it has to be this one, it talks all about the breathing and that makes all the difference. It's called Yoga Zone: Introduction to Yoga: Beginners. I tried it for the first time from the library in Chaska. I just got it again through Netflix. I had to make sure it was the right one. I'm going to get the whole beginner collection. 4 CD's only $23 on Amazon. It is so relaxing, a great way to start your day or a nice way to wind down after a long, stressful day. It is a way of exercising without straining your body, and this is the beginner one, so it stresses that you go at your own pace, and they have one instructor doing the beginner version. It's so worth it!

Exercise

* Sadly, not everyone has received their package yet, I was going to post the contents on here, but we need to wait for everyone to get theirs, in the mean time, I will be posting, so keep checking. I will update this at least once a day!

All parts of the body which have a function if used in moderation and exercised in labors in which each is accustomed, become thereby healthy, well developed and age more slowly, but if unused they become liable to disease, defective in growth and age quickly.

~Hippocrates~

Exercise is so important to a well balanced life. I love to exercise. When I lived in Colorado and worked as a rafting guide I never got sick and I didn't get any headaches. When I moved to Eau Claire and changed to a more sedentary life the headaches returned. I was in the best shape of my life in CO. (Naturally that is why I used a pic. from that period of time for my profile because there is a good chance that I will never look like that again!) I skied nearly every day in the winter. I biked a mile on a hilly gravel road to work everyday in the summer, and of course doing my job was quite a work out. I was outside everyday and I loved it. I had such a hard time readjusting to working inside. It was so sad for me. Natural light and getting out is great. I love hiking to the waterfalls where we live right now, and as I approach the forest this lovely sign greets me:

Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.
-William Wordsworth
